Job Description

We are looking for a well-experienced Refractive Senior Director (RSD) to join our Refractive Surgery team. This highly motivated person will be responsible for overall operations and management of the Refractive Department. He/she will work closely with the CEO, the CBO or the Business Consultant as well as the marketing department and others to develop and execute strategic initiatives that will increase exponentially refractive sales’ growth while managing, coaching and mentoring our Refractive Counselors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Report to Chief Business Officer / (Consultant) & the CEO

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to promote our refractive services, including ICL, RLE, LASIK, RK and advanced cataract surgery.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, support and training as needed to achieve sales targets and objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including referring physicians, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee the counselor team and ensure they are well-trained and equipped to provide excellent patient care and support throughout the counseling process.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop compelling content and promotional materials to attract and educate patients about Mittleman Eye services.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and patient feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Full accountability and responsibility for Refractive initiatives.
  • Work with the CBO or the Consultant and the CEO to monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations.
  • Work with outside referral sources to grow refractive, OBS and clinic pillars.
  • Responsible for management of profit and loss for Refractive Department.
  • Responsible for prevention of injury or harm to self, patients, visitors, and guests.
  • Coordination for the Refractive Department schedules, flow, processes, and overall patient experience.
  • Participate in health fairs and other community events as directed and appropriate.
  • Coach, develop, direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, patient experience specialists, and surgical counsellors.
  • Work with the CBO or the Consultant, and the CEO to establish and evaluate goals and objectives for Center staff and motivate them for achievement sales quotas.
  • Develop policies and procedures along with the Medical Director, the Consultant and the CEO.
  • Lead, organize, and direct Team and patient education.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare or a related field is preferred with 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare, or a related field with 10+ years of experience.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 15+ years of experience in the field is welcomed and will be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ophthalmology or sales leadership, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of refractive procedures and industry trends.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the refractive market and driving high sales revenues.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growth.
  • Proven Track record of achieving.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
