Louis Michaelos, M.D.
Dr. Louis Michaelos is a third-generation ophthalmologist inspired by the emotional impact of restoring vision. He graduated magna cum laude in Biology from Stetson University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, where he served as class president and was inducted into Psi Sigma Alpha. After completing an internship in South Miami and a residency at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine as chief resident, he finished a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Michaelos is board-certified by the National Board of Examiners in Ophthalmology.
Drawn to the unique blend of surgery and patient care in ophthalmology, he specializes in corneal transplantation, LASIK, refractive lens exchange, and advanced cataract surgery. In private practice since 2018, he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Pinellas County Ophthalmology Society. Passionate about innovation and improving patient outcomes, Dr. Michaelos is dedicated to advancing the field of ophthalmology.
